Yoga Teacher (RYT 200, TIYT)
My own emotional and physical needs led me to become a yoga practitioner in 2011, and yoga has become an integral part of my life ever since. I became a yoga teacher in 2019, and additional studies led to a Trauma-Informed certification in 2020. My passion for working with children led me to teach elementary music from 2015 to 2020 before the pandemic hit, which changed everything in my life, as it did for so many of us.
As an elementary educator, I witnessed many students struggle with anxiety, fear, trauma, and grief, (particularly during the pandemic,) and they had few practical tools to manage such huge feelings. The pandemic wreaked havoc on their sense of safety, security, and ability to feel grounded and protected. It became clear to me that I could better help children meet their emotional needs through yoga, so I made the decision to leave public education and try something new.
Now, my work is largely helping kids to develop their own emotional ‘toolbox’ to feel more empowered and better equipped to navigate the world around them. In yoga classes, we do this by exploring dynamic movement, freedom of expression through dancing, singing, and shouting! We move our bodies through yoga poses and tap into how our bodies feel in these shapes. We play yoga-related games to practice teamwork, problem solving, and gracefully losing. We learn how our breath can calm or energize us, how meditation can help us feel focused, and how to be responsive rather than reactive. It is a place where kids can be fully kids, show up however they are feeling, and feel welcome.

Christa was raised on a steady diet of green chile and sopapillas in the shadow of the Sangre de Christo mountains in New Mexico. Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)
Jessie (RYT 200) loves to share yoga with her students by combining her athletic background with an intention to heal and feel good! After playing just about every sport you can think of, including defensive tackle on the men's football team, Jessie was recruited to throw the hammer on the University of Maryland's Track & Field team. Jessie had an incredible experience as a collegiate athlete, serving as a captain and becoming all-ACC, but when she graduated she felt a void from no longer being part of a team. This is how she found her way to yoga.
After committing to a consistent practice, Jessie noticed her back-pain releasing and her hips and quadriceps becoming more flexible, resulting in an overall feeling of lightness and freedom that she had never experienced from her years of athletics. After just a few weeks of practicing yoga, Jessie felt like a new person with a connection to her breath, mind, and body. By combining her athletic experience with her yogic journey, Jessie brings sport-specific movements to help her students take a balanced approach to excelling in their sport... all while feeling good!

Johanna (500 RYT, RPYT) is deeply passionate about yoga and subtle body energy healing. She is a Reiki Master, Sound Healer, and Crystalline Consciousness Technique practitioner.
Johanna fell in love with yoga a decade ago when first taking prenatal yoga during her pregnancy. It was the only thing she could do physically that made her feel comfortable in her ever-changing body at that time. She was "that" woman--who took her yoga mat with her to labor and delivery, practicing learned breath work and poses until she delivered her daughter more than 30 hours later--her dedication to her yoga practice had worked! A professional marketer by trade, Johanna decided to take the leap and take her first yoga teacher training to dive deeper into her practice. Yoga has been a foundational piece of her life, keeping her equally grounded in both chaotic and blissful times. She loves to share the powerfully transformational aspects of yoga with all of her students.

Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)
Keegan (RYT 200) began his practice in 2010 at a Baptiste inspired studio. This class sparked an expedition into meditation, breathwork, Tai Chi, and other forms of mind/body/spirit practices. He completed his teacher training in 2015 and has been teaching ever since. He has taught vinyasa, hatha, restorative, and kundalini inspired classes during his time as a teacher.
Keegan believes yoga opens us up to states of inner stillness. This state of stillness has healed, empowered, and revealed joy within his life. He cultivates this in his classes by incorporating pranayama (breathwork techniques) and cueing breath control during the practice.
Breath is key for Keegan, along with proper alignment within the shape of a pose. Keegan likes to build students into postures (asanas) from the foundation up while offering variations optimal for each student. Once proper alignment is achieved, he feels the subtle energetic quality of the pose can be embodied.

She is currently pursuing her 300 RYT Prana Vinyasa certification with Jessica Lazar at Flow Yoga Center.
