The Dream Team

Your Local Experts

Our studio is made up of truly amazing and beautiful people, all of whom have dedicated their lives to spreading the message of mindfulness and spirituality to others. We appreciate the help of ALL our volunteers and teachers for making the transition to a virtual studio so smooth and simple in response to the shock that COVID-19 has laid upon them and their families, their job security, and our community. As such, we have set up a Teachers Fund to help support and hopefully alleviate their efforts—100% of contributions made here will go towards supporting the people who lay the foundation of our community: the teachers!

Although she was enjoying the fruits of a successful business she felt like something was missing—not enough yoga! Francia is a practitioner of the Still Water Sangha meditation community. She is level II Reiki certified, a meditation coach, mindfulness instructor, and plant-based nutrition specialist.  Francia’s passion for teaching yoga stems from a deep gratitude and awareness of the self-healing properties of this practice and strives to create a safe and loving space for her students to connect to inner knowledge and wisdom in order to transform hardships and limiting beliefs through physical practice, mental exploration, and emotional connection.

Jessie Hill

Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)

Jessie (RYT 200) loves to share yoga with her students by combining her athletic background with an intention to heal and feel good! After playing just about every sport you can think of, including defensive tackle on the men's football team, Jessie was recruited to throw the hammer on the University of Maryland's Track & Field team. Jessie had an incredible experience as a collegiate athlete, serving as a captain and becoming all-ACC, but when she graduated she felt a void from no longer being part of a team. This is how she found her way to yoga.

After committing to a consistent practice, Jessie noticed her back-pain releasing and her hips and quadriceps becoming more flexible, resulting in an overall feeling of lightness and freedom that she had never experienced from her years of athletics. After just a few weeks of practicing yoga, Jessie felt like a new person with a connection to her breath, mind, and body. By combining her athletic experience with her yogic journey, Jessie brings sport-specific movements to help her students take a balanced approach to excelling in their sport... all while feeling good!

Johanna Olivas

Yoga Teacher (RYT 500, RPYT) | Reiki Master

Johanna (500 RYT, RPYT) is deeply passionate about yoga and subtle body energy healing. She is a Reiki Master, Sound Healer, and Crystalline Consciousness Technique practitioner.

Johanna fell in love with yoga a decade ago when first taking prenatal yoga during her pregnancy. It was the only thing she could do physically that made her feel comfortable in her ever-changing body at that time. She was "that" woman--who took her yoga mat with her to labor and delivery, practicing learned breath work and poses until she delivered her daughter more than 30 hours later--her dedication to her yoga practice had worked! A professional marketer by trade, Johanna decided to take the leap and take her first yoga teacher training to dive deeper into her practice. Yoga has been a foundational piece of her life, keeping her equally grounded in both chaotic and blissful times. She loves to share the powerfully transformational aspects of yoga with all of her students.

Julie Heatherly

Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)

Julie (RYT 200) started her yoga journey, like many, for the physical aspects of asana practice. She soon became aware that there was so much more to be experienced, both spiritually and philosophically. Her classes are flow in nature and allow the practitioner to move in mindful meditation. Her goal as a teacher is to pass on not just the physical practice of yoga, but yoga as a whole, infusing her classes with a fun and positive energy. A lifelong student, she continues to study the practice of yoga for her own self-awareness, Svadhyaya.

Karin Turturro-Iuzzini

Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)

She has had the opportunity to take part in workshops with Sean Corne, Bryan Kest, and has also completed Baron Baptiste's level one training.  Come prepared to sweat, smile and leave Karin's yoga class feeling grounded and open to possibilities.

Keegan Abernathy

Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)

Keegan (RYT 200) began his practice in 2010 at a Baptiste inspired studio. This class sparked an expedition into meditation, breathwork, Tai Chi, and other forms of mind/body/spirit practices. He completed his teacher training in 2015 and has been teaching ever since. He has taught vinyasa, hatha, restorative, and kundalini inspired classes during his time as a teacher.
Keegan believes yoga opens us up to states of inner stillness. This state of stillness has healed, empowered, and revealed joy within his life. He cultivates this in his classes by incorporating pranayama (breathwork techniques) and cueing breath control during the practice.
Breath is key for Keegan, along with proper alignment within the shape of a pose. Keegan likes to build students into postures (asanas) from the foundation up while offering variations optimal for each student. Once proper alignment is achieved, he feels the subtle energetic quality of the pose can be embodied.

She is currently pursuing her 300 RYT Prana Vinyasa certification with Jessica Lazar at Flow Yoga Center. Robin Zimmerman

Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)

Robin (RYT 200) received her teaching certification from LifeTime Yoga. Yoga?! What... that's not Robin! This was her first reaction upon loving a class. Robin prides herself on being active and enjoying boot-camp, loud-music-type-of-workouts where you drench yourself in sweat. Little did she know, yoga comes in all shapes and sizes! Once you ‘get’ a pose, you can build on it. Robin enjoys challenges–not only physically–but mentally as well. A practice for all ages. A practice you can take with you everywhere you go, as long as you have your breath. Robin was first directed to yoga on doctor’s orders when injured during CrossFit. She was given two options, do yoga or do nothing. Nothing is not in Robin’s DNA, so, she gave it a shot. Fast forward, she is now a teacher, hoping to help her students love the practice as much as she does, matching asana to breath! She can't wait to see you, just as you are, on your mat.

This journey led her to complete her 200 hour teacher training in Rishikesh, India in July 2018.

Sangeeta is a nature lover with a passion for Indian food, music, dance! She considers herself to be a lifelong student and believes in sharing, (not teaching,) this ancient practice with others. Traci Tufano

Yoga Teacher (RYT 500, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga certified) | Reiki & Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner

Traci (RYT 500, Reiki I & II, Thai Yoga Massage, Aerial Yoga, and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga certified) has a teaching style that is both supportive and playful. Traci first started yoga in high school as a way to condition for sports and was quickly drawn to the additional mental health benefits of the practice. She has since used yoga as a way to heal past traumas and reconnect with her truest self.

Traci became a yoga teacher to help create a loving and safe space for her students so they can discover their inner and outer strength. After practicing hot power yoga almost every day, (sometimes twice a day,) a major injury caused her to slow down. She found her way into a restorative class and loved how the props provided support in different poses for a deep, yet easily accessible, stretch. Wanting to explore more styles of yoga with props, Traci went to an aerial yoga class. It was a combination of her new love of prop support and the fire she had missed from her hot power days. She wanted to learn everything she could about the world and co-created a Level 1, 2, and Restorative Aerial Yoga Teacher Training with Flow & Fly Yoga.

Vanessa (RYT 200) is a passionate yoga instructor and practitioner. She felt called to the path of yoga after understanding the importance of healing and surrender in her own life. She enjoys helping her students alter subconscious thought patterns they've been conditioned into believing to access their full potential. She is energetic, loving, and fiery, with a consciousness-oriented approach–constantly inspired by the mind, body, and spiritual connection yoga can provide. Due to her love for teaching and children, she studied Early Childhood Education in college, however, on a quest for more knowledge, she shifted gears to kinesiology and public health. Drawing on her studies and experience Vanessa draws a safe space for her students to express themselves fully during their practice.
