Kathy Smith, 200 RYT
Kathy began her yoga journey over 15 years ago taking classes for a good stretch in-between fitness activities. An avid runner and triathlete, Kathy used her yoga asana practice to help stretch and soothe muscles after long runs and competitive events.
Not only did Kathy find several benefits from the practice of asanas, she also learned that yoga was helpful while raising her two young children. She learned to be more focused and in the moment, using breathing techniques to get through those 'challenging' times. It wasn't long before Kathy's kids wanted to join in! Kathy found it was fun teaching asanas and breathing to kids. With that Kathy decided to work towards becoming a yoga teacher.
Kathy graduated in August 2012 from Inner Reaches 200 hour yoga teacher training with Dee Gold. She also has a certificate from YoKid, Inc. and teachings yoga to kids within the public and private school system.
